Excel opens with an Invalid file

I am running Excel 2007. When I start it tries to open acroRD32.exe which
is an invalid file format. Where is it getting the instruction to open with
this file?

Sounds like your file associations got confused. Somewhere something/someone
told it to open .pdf files in Excel.
