excel problem

running office xp on 2000 os, whenever I hit the down
arrow, the screen moves up instead of the selected cell
moving down. I think something is locked but I can't
figure out what....help please...thanks, bob

Bob,

Sounds like you have got the Scroll Lock on. It is a keyboard key.

you've probably enable Scroll lock. hit the SCRLock key on your
keyboard

Look at the Status Bar - does it display EXT? Toggle this off with F8.

Ooops... I think on re-reading I should have suggested you tap the Scroll
key.

Bob, check your Scroll isn't locked on because this
causes the screen to move, not the active cell. (You
should have a light on your keyboard indicating that
Scroll is active).
