Excel quits cell edit mode before I finished entering text

HI

Since my Excel crashed this morning, i have troubles entering Text
into cells. After a few letters excel leaves the cell edit mode by
itself, so when I continue typing it re-enters the edit mode again and
overwrites the previous text. The faster I type, the longer it stays
in edit mode, but as soon as there is a little break, it leaves it.
Unfortunately I can't type fast enough to avoid the problem ;-)

Is there an option somewhere related to this?

I replaced the whole Office program folder and all prefs with a
backup, but the problem stays.

Arrgh, found it. It was PopChar that crashed constantly in the
background. Even after a reboot.
