I have a small business server and 5 members of staff (inc myself) who access
and update 5 shared excel spreadsheets held on the server. Have been
sharing spreadsheets for 3 years+ and started having problems (on & off)
since new network and small biz server installed. Numerous problems but one
which keeps popping up at different times is that one person can make
changes, save on their computer, then everyone else saves but the 1st
person's changes don't appear on everyone elses??? whats all this about??
Another problem we get is that the spreadsheet gets 'locked' and we end up
having to save document with another name but this means some changes are
lost. Users have a mix of operating systems (2 x Windows 98 and 3 x XP),
also different versions of Excel (2xoffice 2003, 1 x office 2000 Pro and 2 x
office 2000) - could this be the problem?? Has any else experience these
problems??? Please help its doing our heads in!
