When trying to sort a large bibliography I get the message "This operation requires cells to be identically sized"
How is that done?
I have failed in all attempts to format the cells,

Thanks in advance.

You've got merged cells somewhere in the column you're sorting (most
common is the top row).

Merged cells are the spawn of the devil. Friends don't let friends use
merged cells. They're just plain bad.

Unmerge the cells and try the sort again.

Still no luck. Any way to find or identify merged cells?

One quick way:

Select the one column. The highlight color will fill all the selected
cells (except the active cell). Look for highlighting outside the
selected column.
