As I understand it, Hootieuno wants the column width to
adjust automatically to a long text. A wrap text will fit
a long text in a fixed width and only the row height will
change.

Hootieuno,
The only way I see for your long text to fit the width is
to double click the edge of the column header. Otherwise,
the MVPS may have a macro to do that automatically for you.

If your string of text is not tooooo long, highlight the column and then,

Format > Column > AutoFit Selection
