Excel spreadsheet not 'Locked for editing'

Simon

Hi everyone

We have an interesting problem....

User A has a spreadsheet open and is happily modifying it. When user B opens
the spreadsheet they don't get the message that it is being edited by User A
and read only is their only option. Hence they can also edit the spreadsheet!

Has anyone else had this problem and if so what is the cure?

We are using Office 2007

Thanks

Hi JoAnn

Thanks for your reply, we are using Microsoft Office 2003 professional
fully licensed. I am wondering if the issue is related to a time sync
problem?

please let me know if you have any other ideas

Regards

Neil
