Excel super slow start, answers?

I'm running XP with Office 2007. Lately start ups are very slow. I
searched the history of this problem and found Martin von Gagern's Speed Up
Excel 2007 Startup to have made several people happy. I tried to enter the
fix but failed. Obviously I need a 101 class to change my settings of his
fix or information on some other program being used.

Can anyone help?
