Edit A query linking to excel

Hi there,
I imported external access table to excel for analysis.
I created a pull down list on certain field in excel, sothat when I select a
value in the pull down list, only those records with the specific value
appreas. I tried to edit the query in access, but don't know how to writer
the criteria? It gave me syntax error.

Could anyone advise?

Microsoft unfortunately lost a lawsuit last year. The settlement terms
required that Microsoft disable the ability to edit Excel spreadsheets linked
to Access databases.
