Excel to Outlook: formatting the date in Outlook

Please help! My Excel template has many date fields. The final output into
Outlook comes from the following partial formula:

=A5&CHAR(13)&A6&CHAR(13)&CHAR(13)&A7&CHAR(9)&CHAR(9)&(A8)

Let's say cell A8 is an Excel date. How do I format it in this formula so
its not the Excel Serial number in the Outlook message body?
