Excel: what does [Grouped] mean?

G

gen

I did something to my Excel spreadsheet and I can't see any of the data
(except on 1 worksheet), it's all gray in the others; no cells to select.
It says [Grouped] at the top, above the menubar. I can see the row numbers,
the column letters, and the line where my panes are frozen, nothing is
missing or grouped that i can see.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

"Grouped" by value. See, Data, Group and Outline
I take something back, I cannot see the columns, there are no column
letters.

Thanks for the reply bob, but there is nothing grouped (nothing to ungroup,
etc). What i did try to do prior to this was highlight 6 of the 8 worksheet
tabs at the bottom and copy them to another workbook, it didn't work so I
didn't do anything else. but i noticed that the tabs still looked
highlighted, so i closed the workbook and reopened, that's when all looks
gray.

I noticed it no longer says [Grouped] at the top, but still no columns, or
data.

Correction on my part, I missunderstood issue! Hold down CTRL, and click
each "Sheet" tab at the bottom to "ungroup"

Thanks, I now understand what was grouped. However, my data is still gone.
I suspect it's lost, but I still wonder what happened to the sheets.
There's still no columns or cells, just solid gray background. I will try
to attach here to show...

Thanks, I understand now about that grouping. However the data is still
gone. I guess I lost it. But even if I did lose it, what happened to the
worksheets? Even with data gone there is no columns and cells. Wonder if I
can attach it here to show...

Column width was set to zero!! No idea how that happened...

Good to hear you've found the cause and cure. Thanks for posting back.
