update or can i down load from microsof.

If you have a copy of Excel on your machine, then you can depending on the version, buy an update
for it. Take a look at the following 'upgrade eligibility' link to see if you qualify:-

Note, that at the moment the earliest version of Excel that will qualify you for an upgrade is 97.
