EXCEL WORK BOOK DUPLICATES WHEN OPENED

An Excel work sheet that I received, opens 5 copies when I double click to
open ( NOT WORK SHEETS ) It opens the same workbook 5 times.

How to avoid this ?

Is there any code in the file?
Does it ask if you want to enable macros? What if you say no?
What'sthe Macro security level set to?
XL2007 or earlier?

(More Qs than As at this stage I'm afraid
