Excel workbook to be used by multiple users at same time....possible???

I have to make a workbook that keeps track of inventory of samples unde
certain study numbers which are delt with in one department and the
another and so on and so forth.

My question is, since this workbook will be used by multiple users mos
likely at the same time....will excel allow this to happen?? Or will i
give an error message "Cannot read file, it is being used by anothe
program" or whatever?

Hi Malik,

You can't have full access for multiple users in Excel.

However, you can using an Access database, except that you can't edit
the same record together, which doesn't happen that much.

Much of what Excel does Access can do - its very versatile.
