You have to open the Access database in Access and then you can export the data or you will need to
learn to write ASP/VBScript to export the data directly to a .csv file within your website.

In your IE browser, type:

? ASP Access to Excel Output

I am not sure how a user of my web site would have access to open my
database. What I was hoping that someone could tell me were I could find
information on how to export data for a database results asp page to an excel
page. I know that this can be done, because I ve seen web site that have
pages of database results that with a click of the mouse you are asked to
open or save the database results in a excel file.

You can do it in ASP, but it requires hand coding using

<% Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.ms-excel" %>

' Then open your Access DB table connection in VBscript here
' and generate your spreadsheet data using just a table in the ASP page

<TABLE BORDER=1 id="table1"><TR>
<% For f = 0 to objRS.Fields.Count - 1 %>
<TH align="left" valign="top"><b><% = objRS(f).Name %></b></TH>
<% Next %></TR>
<% objRS.MoveFirst
Do While Not objRS.EOF %>
<TR><% For v = 0 to objRS.Fields.Count - 1 %>
<TD align="left" valign="top"><% = objRS(v).Value %></TD>
<% Next %></TR>
<% objRS.MoveNext
Loop %></TABLE>

' close your rs and db connection

2 ways to do it.

1. http://home.att.net/~codeLibrary/FrontPage/excel.htm
2. Create a DRW exactly the way you want it to appear in excel.
Insert>web component>spreadsheets and charts
Click office spreadsheet
click finish
right click on spreadsheet
choose active x control properties
choose the import tab
choose data type html
in the url box enter the url of the drw page you created earlier
check the refresh url at run time button
click import now.

That's it! You can also add charts based on the excel spreadsheet.

However, site visitors must have Excel installed and running Windows / IE and allow Active X
components.
