How do I do a mail merge using an older version of Excel (98/99)which
contains my data. I am now using Office 2003.

1.) The version of Excel you cite does not exist.

MS Office began using release year as their version number in 1995.
Versions are as follows:
Office 95
Office 97
Office 2000
Office 2002 (aka Office XP)
Office 2003 (current version)

2.) Clarify what you are trying to do: Are you trying to create a Word
2003 to Mail Merge using data kept in an older version of Excel?

3.) Since Mail Merge is an advanced function, there is an entire
newsgroup devoted to Mail Merge, found here:

microsoft.public.word.mailmerge.fields

It exists, Steve, just not on the Windows platform... ;o)
