I Have an Spreadsheet with with irregular dates on an Time Axis and
want to create a spreadshet with an corrected time axis.
e.g. dates for the years 1919, 1920, 1924, 1924 and I will create an
diagram with an time axis fpor 1919, 1920, 1921 (with no data)...

Hi,

The easiest way to do this is by using pivot charts.

- Select the area, where the dates are.
- Go to data-menu and from there select "pivottable and pivotchar
report"
- Select "pivotchart report" and click finish.
- From pivot table field list, select the field which contains th
dates and drop it under the chart, where it says "Drop category field
here"
- Right-click the category (the place where you just added the dates
and select "group and show detail" -> group
- from the "by"-list select year (and unselect month if necessery) an
click ok.
- Now if you want to see how many dates are the per year, drag and dro
the same field, which contains your dates, to the charts chart are
(where it says "Drop data items here")

These instructions are for XL2003. There are some minor differences fo
different XL version, but the main idea is the same.
