Hi, just yesterday I started having a problem using Excel on my XP machine.
I thought it was because of the spreadsheet file, but the same behavior
occurred today when I opened a different file.
I cannot type or select anything. When I drag the mouse it is in a
selection mode and just selects cells on the spreadsheet.

And sometimes the buttons on mice stick. Gently bang on all the
buttons--including the wheel mouse button if Don's suggestion didn't work.
