Excell 03 and Beta 07

I am running the Office 2007 beta, but have a third party software that needs
Excel not supported yet in 07. Can I run both versioin of Excel on my PC? If
so how? is it still on my system or did 07 remove it? If I cannot run both
versions of Excel. can I remove 07 and reinstall 03 Excel only and stay with
07 on the other Office apps?

You could run Excel 2003 and 2007 on your computer if you had installed them
in separate directories and told the beta not to upgrade the older version.
Only you would know what you told the software to do.

If you told it overwrite the software, you'll have to reinstall Office 2003.
The problem I foresee is that multiple versions of Office generally needs to
be installed in the order of release. This means uninstalling the beta,
install 2003, and then reinstall the beta.

I think you're in for a bit of work.

Can I uninstall Excel 07 and do the reinstall of 03 and 07 or do I have to do
the whole office suit? Thanks Ron

I can't answer that. You can try it but no guarantees.

First, did you check whether Excel 2003 was still installed? If so, did
you try to run it?

If you can't run Excel 2003, then you're better off uninstalling Office
2007 and Office 2003 (if uninstalling the latter is an option after
uninstalling the former) then reinstalling Office 2003 and Office 2007
in that order (and telling Office 2007 to keep Office 2003) than
uninstalling and reinstalling Excel alone.

I dug out my 03 disk set and after inputing the looooog key code had to dig
up an even older Office disk as 03 did not see previous version for upgrade:
fortunatly I still have XP disk. I chose custom install and unchecked all but
Excel. The install went quick and easy. All works. I have even ran both 03
and 07 at the same time no issues so far. So I am back up and running with
the third party software as before and still using 07 for everything else.
BTW: I like 07 waaaay better than 97/00/XP/03. Some features that I like are
greyed out like insert in Outlook email, but the button is there.
