Exchange 2007 converts mails from/to html

Hello!

I'm connecting my Entourage 2008 over WebDAV to my employers Exchange server. Since the move from Exchange 2003 to 2007 I see two strange problems:

- All plaintext Mails downloaded from the Exchange 2008 are converted to HTML

- All HTML mails sent through the Exchange 2008 are converted to plaintext

It looks like the WebDAV connector on Exchange 2008 uses some "filtering" which alters (destroys :) my mails. Intensive Googeling showed two referencies in the net about the same problem - both were unanswered.

As a workaround I switched to POP / SMTP loosing the calendar and contacts sync to the Exchange account.

Is there any switch on the Exchange side to disable this behaviour? I'm working for a really small company and the mail administrator does everything for me ;-)

I've never heard of this problem before. I suggest posting your question
in the microsoft.public.exchange.admin newsgroup found here
<http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.exchange.admin>.

Hope this helps!

A similar thing happened here: I imported some plain-text MBOXes into a
vanilla Entourage, part of Office 2008 Student & Home (i.e. no Exchange
support!) only to have them transformed into HTML messages; the cached eml
files are tagged with "Converted to HTML from plaintext". Quite annoying.
