Exchange inbox error

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I used the office trial for about a week with no issues. Then I purchased Office 2008 business edition. I uninstalled the trial, then installed the business edition.

After the business edition install i opened Entourage and all my Exchange server settings are still there. Every time I click on my Exchange inbox in the left hand side i get an error that says.

"Entourage cannot open the item due to an error. An unknown error has occurred in Entourage."

I have uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the same error keeps popping up.

Version 12.2.0
Latest Installed Update: 12.2.1

Yes I used the uninstaller located in \Applications\Microsoft Office 2008\Additional Tools\Remove office folder.

Then it should have cleared anything that might interefer.
You can try selecting the root of your exchange account on the left-side
pane and ctrl-click it to get to the properties. In one of the panes
there you can purge the Exchange cache. That might help :-\
If your account is on an up to date Exchange 2007 server, you could also
consider installing the EWS update on top of your install.
It accesses the server through Web Services which is far more robust.
