Exchange is unavailable

Ive just downloaded Office 2007 and when I try to open Outlook it says
Exchange is unavailable. Can I use Outlook without having exchange. Im
operating from a home computer.

Is there anything i can do

Go into the Mail applet in Control Panel and delete the Exchange account.
Then load Outlook and define the e-mail accounts you want.
