Exchange server different domain, I get psswd not accepted on XP?

I have just migrated my office users from another mail client to Outlook
2003. Unfortunately my Exchange server is in a different domain, so the
users are requested to login. W2K users have no problems, but some WinXP
users are requested their password over and over and over (till their account
locks) - other XP users are strangely OK - so must it be an update thing??
