I accidentally deleted the administrator mailbox from exchange server 5.5 and the incoming and outgoing mail has stopped. I recreated the administrator mailbox but the service won't start. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Do you have good backups? If you deleted the service account, you can't just
recreate it and expect Exchange to work - the SID is different on the new
account. You might need to do a full disaster recovery restore from
tape...try posting in microsoft.public.exchange.admin for best results, as
this is an outlook newsgroup.
