Exclude tables from word count feature

Hello,
Is it possible to exclude the words inside a table when running the word
count tool? If so, how is it done? I was wondering whether someone has
written an add-in or the VBA code for a macro to do this task.

No, it is not. You'd have to code your own "word count" tool from scratch.
