excluding weekends from date format

Ben

Thank you to Jon Peltier for the reply to my previous
question. What a clever solution.
On another much simpler question. How do I prevent
weekends from creating a 2 day gap when I chart stock
data. Excel recognises the x axis as a date and formats
it as such but the hi lo close chart includes 2 blank
spaces to represent weekends even though there are no
weekends in data.
Thank you

Change the axis type to category. Select the chart, then Chart | Chart
Options... | Axes tab. For the Category (X) Axis select the Category
option.

Ben -

You have to give up the nice date scale axis for a category axis. Right
click on the chart, choose Chart Options from the pop up menu, click on
the Axes tab, and under Category Axis, change from Time Scale (or
Automatic) to Category.
