The other issue I am having is that I'd like to know how
to issue the PowerPoint template in a .exe file.

You can use WinZip to create a self-extracting executable file. See
http://www.winzip.com/ . You can set it up to extract to a specific folder, if
you want, or let the user specify that.

Specifically, WinZip includes a feature called "Create
Self Extractor (.exe)". You must zip up the template
first.

If you don't own a copy of WinZip, you can download a
free zip utility that can do this as well from
www.zipgenius.it
