exiting problem on only one computer

I am having a problem with only one computer in our
office. When she is in our Access system she locks
everyone else out, and when she signs off, her .ldb file
remains on her computer and she cannot log back on.

It is not opening exclusively, I've already checked this.
I have checked her settings in Tools -> Options ->
advanced tab, and the settings are all the same as on the
others.

Any other suggestions?

How is she opening the file? The settings in Tool|Options can be overridden
by command line switches and other manual intervention. What is the setup,
everyone with their own front-end accessing a common back-end? If so, her
file may be corrupted. Have you tried copying a working copy from another
computer to her computer? Does she have problems with any other Access
databases?

This is really weird what is happening. I have Runtime
systems on everyone elses computers and they work great.
When I put the Runtime system on this computer and open
it, an error occurs. So I have installed Access 2002 on
the computer and opened the .mdb that created the runtime
and it works wonderfully, except that when she works on
a "job" it will lock everyone else out and when she exits
Access all together it leaves the .ldb file on her
computer and will not allow her to open Access again
until she reboots the machine. I have even tried to
delete the .ldb and it says it is in use and won't allow
it to be deleted.

It sounds as if there is a problem with the operating system. Right
off-hand, I would start running some "spy ware" checks. I've had good luck
with Ad-Aware and Spy Bot. Each catch things the other doesn't. You can find
them by doing a search on Google. I've cleaned several systems lately and
problems such as these are frequently the symptoms; however, there is no
guarantee that this is the problem.

Sometimes when the ldb doesn't get deleted it is because you don't have
delete permissions on the location the file is being written, but this
shouldn't give you a "file in use" error when you try to delete it. You can
test if this is the problem by going to the folder, right clicking, and
choosing a file type from under the New menu to create a new file. Next, try
to delete this new file. If you can, then permissions shouldn't be the
problem.
