expand/collapse box

Hello,

I have quite a few catagories I have to add to a site including
sub-catagories. I was thinking of using an expand/collapse menu but I need
instructions on how to do so. The other thing I thought of using is a drop
down box which I already have created in the past. What would you recommend
people prefer to use when visiting a site.
