expected version not found when installing office 2003 patch

Hi,

i am able to download ofice 2003 patch. during istallation, i get a message
the "expected version of office is not found on this machine..."

I checked and double checked my version and it is office 2003. can anyone
tell me why this is happening?

Since you didn't mention what patch you have, the only thing that comes to
mind is that you don't have the right service pack for Office 2003 installed
in order to install the update. The latest and greatest service pack for
Office 2003 is Service Pack 3.
