Hi James,
I'm glad to hear your experiences were good, and I do think their software
is good.
In my case, my view of the company was soured by several incidents with one
account rep. I basically wanted to evaluate Project Tracking and was told I
needed to buy it (no free trials) but that it had a 30 day money back
guarantee. The day I went to order it, the rep informed me that the price
he had quoted was wrong, by $500, because I was using SQL2000 for the data
base (and not MSDE). I'm still not clear on why that mattered. I was also
encourged to buy support because I would probably need it (according to the
rep) to get it installed or configured. After trying it, I decided not to
keep it (mainly because it was turning out to be pretty expensive and I
wanted to look at some other products before making a decision, not because
I disliked the software) but the rep refused to refund my money. I had to
go to his boss, and then theaten to get an attorney before they would
comply. And even at that, it took a while and a lot of phone calls before
the refund was actually issued. Needless to say, it left a very bad taste
in my mouth. In fairness to Tenrox though, some of the people I dealt with
there were good. But as they say, first impressions are lasting.
What products of theirs are you using, just out of curiosity?
