Explorer Won't Display Page!

S

SJH

I have several computers running Windows 98. All the other computers display
the page ok but one in particular complains of Java Script problems. The url
is http://www.co.palm-beach.fl.us/tc_pubaccess/default.asp

When I click on "Current Property Tax" the top of the page won't display.
Yet on all my other 5 computers with the same configuration it displays
fine. Could it be it's being blocked because of a spyware blocking program?
But all the other computers have the same spyware blocking programs. How do
I fix this?

Thanks,

SJH

It really does not use any active components. Maybe it uses a feature which
is not available in that version of IE you're using. Have you tried updating
it?

Thanks,

Yes, everything's up to date. I'm considering ugrading to 98 se. I can't
figure what else to do. Is it possible to uninstall then reinstall Explorer?

Win98SE will not run the latest versions of IE, which run only on
Windows 2000/XP. Also, Microsoft is phasing out support for Windows9x
(it has already abandoned Windows 3.x)
Is it possible to uninstall then reinstall Explorer?

Yes, but it's tricky, as IE is "integrated" with Windows. You'll have to
ask how to do that, I've never done it, and now I don't use Windows 9x
anymore. A better bet is to use Mozilla. Go to mozilla.org, and see what
they offer.

If you want to stick with Windows, you should seriously consider going
to WinXP as soon as you can afford new hardware. I would recommend the
Professional edition.

Or, you could switch to Linux - you haven't described your hardware, but
Linux will run on machines that too slow for Won2000/XP (but you may
have to add RAM, you should have 64MB or more.)

Good luck.
