EXPORT Fields - Padding Table Entries with Spaces

I use Macromedia Cold Fusion to Write the contents of the
DB, unlike EXPORT which correctly sends the entire field,
CF Write only sends the actual contents. (export also
seems to be sending an extra carriage return... is there
any way to stop that?)

For example a text field of 10 characters. The contents
only contains 5 Characters. I want to export the field to
include the 10 Charactes (5 + Spaces) is there anyway
to "format" the field.
