Export Messages to Text File with Date/Time info?

Hello...

Using Outlook 2007.

When I export a folder of messages to a text file, everything seems to
work -- except that the field mapping step does not show the RECEIVED
or SENT field available to include in the new file.

Is there a way to include those fields in the text file? Or another
workaround?

(In case your wondering, these are old messages that I may want to
access on rare occasions, so I do not want to export those folders as
PST files, because then I would have to import the PST file to search
for text. On those rare occasions when I might need to find something,
I just want to ba able to use a regular text search of the file.)

Thanks.

Considering your background information, you probably don't know that there
is no need to import these messages again when you want to search for a
message. You can simply reattach a pst-file via;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File...

You can close it again when you no longer need it.

Thanks...it worked...

But now there is another problem.

Each time I open one of those PST files, the folder opens in a
completely new "Personal Folders" folder at the bottom of my folders
list.

Having tested the method twice, I now have two unwanted "Person
Folders" folders (each with its own detleted and search folder) that I
can't seem to delete.

Can these be deleted? I don't want a continually growing set of
folders ech time I need to check one of those old messages.

Thanks.

To close an additional pst-folder set, right click its root folder and
choose Close or use File-> Data File Management...
