Export outlook to-do list

Hi,

How can I export the to-do list of Outlook 2007?

I do not see an option for it in the Import/Export under File menu. If I
export the Tasks it does not include the to-do list.

Thank you.

I tried exporting the Calendar also, but nothing is exported.

This is what I am trying to do:

A user lost her to-do list from Outlook. When I open a backup of her .pst
file on my computer, my to-do list is updated with tasks of her to-do list.
I want to export her to-do list (while I have her .pst opened on my
computer), so I can import it into her Outlook on her computer. We both have
Outlook 2007.

I tried to use copy/paste, but it does not work this way.

Thanks.

The To Do bar is just a summary of your calendar events and tasks. It doesn't
itself contain anything separate from the tasks and calendar folders.
Moreover, as far as I know, the To Do bar will only show what's in the
_default_ calendar and tasks, so opening someone else's PST should not not
show information from that PST in the To Do bar unless you then make that PST
the delivery location. If the To Do bar is wonky, starting Outlook with the
/resettodobar command switch should help.

Hi Brian,

Any idea how I may export the tasks in the to-do list?

When I do Import/Export under File menu, export to a .pst file, I have to do
it once for the Calendar which I name calendar.pst, and a second time for the
Tasks which I name tasks.pst (I cannot select both folders in the same
export). When I open these 2 pst in Outlook they are empty (no tasks nor
calendar tasks). Any idea how I may export the tasks shown in the to-do
list, so I can import them onto the other computer?

Thanks.

True. You can't export more than one folder.

Why are you exporting at all if you want the data in a PST format? Open a new
PST with File>New>Outlook Data File. The copy the Calendar and Tasks folder
to that PST. Close the PST and transfer it to the destination PC. Open in in
Outlook with File>Open>Outlook Data File. Opy the contents of those folders
(not the folders themselves) to the corresponding default folders.

Hi Brian,

This part of Outlook is frustrating, I cannot manage to copy the tasks onto
a new .pst as you advised, probably because of my lack of experience with
this matter.

Exactly what happens when you try? Where did the process fail?

I cannot find how to copy only the contents of the folder, without copying
the folder. From the Edit menu I only get option to Copy to Folder, but it
looks like this copies the folder instead of the contents because I get 2
calendar folders in the new .pst (because I tried copying twice, the first
time I did not see the tasks in the new .pst file, nor the second time
either).

I am doing this from my computer opening the other users .pst in my Outlook.
The tasks in Calendar and to-do list are being mixed with both .pst (my .pst
and the users .pst), even when I try to view only one calendar. When I view
the Calendar in the 3rd .pst (the new one created) there are none of the
tasks from the users .pst.

Either I do not understand how to view only 1 calendar, or I am doing
something wrong.

Open the folder by clicking on it so that the contents of the folder appears
in the right-hand pane. Select one item in the right-hand pane by clicking on
it, then press Ctrl-A to select everything. Right-click and drag the
selection to the folder where you want it, or click Edit>Copy to Folder.

Mixed how? Are you viewing the two calendars in overlay mode?
