I've consistently used Outlook 2000's export feature to regularly backup all
of my Personal Folders to a *.pst file. As of yesterday, this has stopped
working. When I attempt to export, I get to the point where it should start
to do the exporting and a few moments later receive this error message: "The
operation failed."
I have observed that my Outlook Today folder name includes "Personal Folder"
after it, in brackets. I don't recall if it always had those words in
brackets.
My Outlook has been acting somewhat buggy for a few weeks, and running the
DETECT AND REPAIR or OUTLOOK INBOX REPAIR TOOL hasn't fixed anything. In
addition to the problem I described above, I've had issues with the program
locking up. When I press CTRL-ALT-DEL, I am able to close the program, but
then multiple occurrences of Outlook mysteriously appear on my Windows XP Pro
Taskbar.
I don't know what has happened to create these problems, but if I were to
simply reinstall the entire Microsoft Office Professional Package at this
point, I'd lose all of the important data in my Outlook.
