Export Report to word

Hi Richie,

Sorry, that is not possible out of the box. You can export data that is
the basis of a report to Excel. You can print the report to a PDF
program if you have one installed. For additional details, see:
FAQ #16 "Project Viewer" at: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

The reporting features in Project do not allow "export" to Word.
However, there may be a work around for you. Notice that the only thing you
can do with a report is "print."

Try "printing" to a PDF file. There are some commercially available PDF
file converters on the market that will allow you to convert the file to most
popular document formats including Microsoft Word. Be aware that the end
product is not as user friendly as a real Word.doc file. You can, however,
make what ever changes you want -- it is just a lot of tedious labor.

Probably the two most popular items on the market at this time are
1. Adobe Acrobat which will create PDF files. This is not the free Acrobat
reader, it is a full featured program that will set you back about $400.
However, if you look online for "PDF Writers" you can find some less robust
packages that are free. It will be all you need.

The PDF creator will appear just like a printer to your applications, just
print to that device.

2. You will need a method to convert from PDF format to something like Word
(.doc). You can buy this type of thing at any local office supply superstore
or computer store. One is called SmartPDFConverter. You can google on
"Convert PDF to Word" and have many choices. This software will allow you to
open files with a PDF extension in MS Word.

So, you can install two pieces of software for under about $100.

Hi Richie,

The FAQ http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm#Project Viewer I noted in my
first reply details saving as a PDF, saving as Excel, and Saving as
HTML.

Assuming you have read the FAQ, I'm not sure what part of my response
you are questioning. Jim explained that to print to a PDF file you need
a program installed to your computer that creates a PDF printer. With
that program installed, you choose File > Print, and select the PDF
printer driver, it creates the PDF file.

To export to excel, you do a File > Save As command and in the Save As
dialog box, select Excel as the file type. A wizard will start and walk
you through exporting the data.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
