Export spreadsheet to Word & keep formatting

I'm trying to export a spreadsheet to Word and 1) retain
the text characteristics (bold, color, font, etc.) and 2)
have the imported text be editable like normal Word text.
I've tried many different options and the one that seems
to work best is doing a copy in Excel and a Paste-Special
in Word, selecting the Unformatted text option - but of
course, I lose the text characteristics. Any suggestion?

Have you tried pasting as formatted text (rtf)? That would retain the
font formatting.
