Exporting addresses onto email server (Free.fr)

Hi

I can't seem to export my addresses from Outlook to my email server
(Free.fr)

From Outlook, I select 'export to a file', but I can't see the format that
Free.fr talk about (CSV)

Trying it in the reverse direction (asking the mail server to import) ,
there is an Outllook option but I can't locate my address book in my
computer.

I wonder if this is because I use 'contacts' and not the address book in
Outlook (seem to remember that this is an issue with Outlook)

For the moment, I am looking for some general pointers to export addresses
as I realize that most of you don't use a Free.fr.

Thanks

If the free.fr server is asking for the Personal Address book, it needs to
get with the times and accept the contacts folder for import, not the PAB...
but since I never heard of free.fr before today, I am only guessing. Are you
sure it's trying to import the outlook address book and not the windows
address book (WAB)?

Does the server accept any other file formats?

Hi

Well as I tried to say, one of the problems is that when I try to export I
copy my contacts from Outlook to my desktop in a .pst format but this
doesn't seem to work on the server.

On the server side, there is a question or a box to tick if the file is in
..csv format.

There is also an option for Outlook but this doesn't seem to work either.

Sorry that I can't be more precise.

If the server requires a .csv format, why are you exporting to a .pst file?
You need to choose the "comma-separated" format when exporting to a file
from Outlook.

Hi

Thanks. I have now managed to do this but the result on the server was not a
pretty sight and I needed to do a lot of editing.

I chose .pst at one point cos there was an Outlook option on the server end
but....

Thanks for all the help
