Exporting an em-dash using Transferspreadsheet

I have a query that formats the data as "#,##0;(#,##0);;– ". i then export
this data to excel using the code transferspreadsheet. When I look at the
Excel file the em-dash disappears and shows a NULL value instead. Do I have
to apply additional code to send this em-dash to Excel?

That format syntax only works in Access.
