Exporting contact details into Word

I need to create a letter from our contacts database in Outlook 2000
into our letterhead in word, without losing any formats.

I have added the letterhead into the templates folder but I don't kno
what to do to protect the formatting in the letterhead becasue wheneve
I using 'new letter to contact' function it deletes the letterhea
formatting.

So the question is is there something I change within the settings t
sort this problem out.

I hope this makes sense.
Any help at all would be appreciated!!
