exporting daily actuals for analysis??

My project contains the daily timesheet data for all of my
resouces (the data shown in the Resource Usage view) and I
can't seem to find a way to export that data so that I can
analyze it in Excel. For example, I want to calculate how
many hours resource X tends to spend a day on bugs or I
want to sum the hours that a particular resource enters
across multiple projects. How can I do this? The data
export wizard (Project 2002) doesn't seem to give access
to the daily hours worked buckets.

Have you tried the analyze timescaled data in excel addin?
Search in Project help to find out how to use it.
It should give a daily report.

This give me hourly data by task, but not by resource. Is
there any way to get that?

Well, you could write some VBA code which would do it.
I think that Brian K or was it Rod Gill has posted code which does this
somewhere.
I suggest that you ask your question in the microsoft.public.project.vba
group and see if you get an answer there.
If you work from the source code for that add-in it would seem possible that
you could develop a similar add-in fairly easily.
I'd do it, but I have to finish my own work first...

I'm not sure what you mean by the "excel addin". I have
used the "analyze timescale data in excel" and this groups
hours by task - not resource, which is what I need. How
can I export this data and group by resource?

Have you tried applying the Resource Usage view first and then exporting to
Excel using the "Analyze timescale data in Excel" tool? Let me know if this
helps.
