exporting from limited fields

I'm attempting to export data from a limited number of records and, from
within them, a limited number of fields. Is this possible?

I'm more familiar with FileMaker Pro where the "export" command guides you
through this process. I know, in Access, how to limit the number of records
I want to export from but not how to avoid exporting every single field
within each of those records.

Help would be very much appreciated.

Create a query that only has the fields you want, and export it.
