Exporting messages & contacts from Outlook to Outlook Express

Is there a simple, step-by-step guide to exporting emails and contacts from
Outlook to Outlook Express? I'm conscious that it has the potential to be
complicated, so I'd be grateful for some useful pointers on possible
pitfalls.

TIA

Thanks for your astoundingly helpful post. I can see that menu option
perfectly well.

My question was based on hearsay evidence that the process has the potential
to be complicated. If there are possible problems, I'd rather know them
first.

It's simple to import the messages. In Outlook Express, click
File>Import>Messages. Select Microsoft Outlook, click Next, select the
folders you wish to import (only the mail folders make sense, so don't
import them all) and click Next.

Importing contacts is a little more complex. In Outlook, click FIle>Import
and Export>Export to a file. Select "Comma Separated Values (Windows)",
click Next, select your Contacts folder, and click Next. Specify the name
of the file to receive the export and click Next, then Finish. IN OE, click
FIle>Import>Other Address Book. Select "Text File (Comma Separated Values)"
and click Import.

When I tried to import messages from Outlook 2000 SP3 to Outlook Express 6
using the wizard, I received an error message "Messages cannot be imported
from the MAPI client" "An error has ocurred"...what does that mean and what
can I do to get past it?
