Expression builder uses periods instead of commas. Cannot edit.

When using the expression builder in ACCESS 2003 it creates expressions using
periods versus commas and it will not allow me to edit them. This ultimately
results in an error and the expression being useless.

I believe the expression builder is putting the periods where they belong.
Post an example please.
