Extending the number of lines to store a Custom property

V

Vissie

Hello,

My shapes store some long pieces of text in the custom properties thus
typing it out in on a single line format in the custom property dialog
box becomes very cumbersome for the users. Is there any way that I can
extend the amount of space provided to type in the custom property to
say 2-3 lines ? This also make reading the entire 2-3 sentences stored
in the property much easier.

Any help will be appreciated ! Thanks alot !

You can add multiple lines by holding down the Ctrl key on the keyboard and
pressing the Enter key to insert a carriage return. Problem is there's no
way to have the multiple lines display in the window. You'd have to either
use the arrow keys on the keyboard or highlight with your mouse pointer and
move it to the line you want to read.

One idea to get more text to display.... you could stretch out the Custom
Properties window (from the View menu, different look than the one from the
Shape menu) so it would show more text.

Another idea, you can have multiple lines with shape fields. Here's what I
mean, with the shape selected, go to Insert menu, Field..., select Custom
Property category and choose the custom property you want to show on the
shape. When you click OK the custom property will show on the shape.
