External Data - Adv Text Import Settings

I'm importing a txt file generated by SAP. Using Import External data works
fine, on refresh, the numbers with a trailing minus ( selected under Advanced
Text Import Settings) reverts back to text. I "Edit Text Import", reset
that, refresh works fine. Then I save and close file; open file refresh 1111-
is text again.

How do I retain the settings permanently?
