external Functions in VBA Word XP

Dear Newsgroup-Team,
I have developed one Function which I use in serveral Word XP macros. From
time to time I have to make changes in dies Function. At this time I need to
do these changes in all macros. If I forget one I will have problems with
the users.
My question is: can I save the function external and bind it into the macros
like DLL's? This would save me from changing all those macros because there
is only one function to be updated. The macros would only call this one
updated function.
You may know a solution which helps me.
