I have some external links in my Project 2003 file. The files I'm
working with are under a very deep directory structure, so I'm hoping
to change the way it displays in the predecessor field.
When I create the external linkage, the external project's task's row
shows up grayed out. I drag all of those up to the top of the schedule
so I have a nice group of external dependencies. All of the rows that
link to them show the full path of the external file then "\x" where
"x" is the row number in the external file.
I'd like one of the two things, in descending order:
1. The row that depends on an external task shows the row number of the
LOCAL file that has the external task grayed out.
2. Instead of showing the "full_path\file_name\x", only show
"file_name\x"
Are either of these possible?
I don't understand the point of showing the task grayed out if I can't
just reference that row in the schedule (from a task sheet
perspective... I do see the value from a gnatt char perspective)
Thanks,
Ralph
