I have about a dozen projects that have links to each other
(external). When I open a project with an external link, if a date in
the other project has pushed a date out in this project, I get the
dialog box upon open that prompts you to accept the change. This is
cool, and I understand that you can set an option to where the
external change is automically accepted.
I have two questions. One, is it bad practice to automatically accept
the outside date change?
Second, and most important question is this....I am NOT using server
(mpps), and I use master plans quite a bit for convenience (coupled
with templates). It appears that when I open a master plan that has
sub-projects linked to each other, I am not prompted for the external
links. In other words, any date change isn't apparent in a project
when viewed within a master project.
Is this really true, and if so, how can I get around it? I'd MUCH
rather not have to open each and every project file to get the links
to "stick".
Thanks,
